TEXUS 48 sounding rocket mission
November 27, 2011 - TEXUS 48 was a suborbital research and technology mission that was launched
at ESRANGE which is situated close to the town of Kiruna in northern Sweden. Powererd by the brazilian
two stage VSB-30 sounding rocket TEXUS 48 reached a peak altitude of 263 km. Three technological and
biological experiments were successfully performed benefitting from the roughly six minutes of microgravity
conditions on board.
I had the opportunity to follow and document the launch campaign. For covering the launch I had
installed two cameras close to the launch tower. I followed the launch from "Radar Hill", which is situated
just over 2 km from the launch tower. TEXUS 48 was truly successful - also concerning the photos.
