Besides aerospace photography, also astrophotography is a challenging but fascinating field that requires a quite high technical effort to succeed. However, the sensitive sensor chips of modern digital and astro cameras can do a very job if used for the purpose of astrophotography and enable even amateur astronomers to capture the faintest objects with remarkable quality.
Deep sky objects shown on this page are taken at more remote locations in the black forest, Switzerland, or Greece. I use mobile equipment, and my main imager is an ASI071 MC Pro on a Skywatcher Esprit 120ED f7 refractor telescope with which most of the pictures have been taken. For tracking I currently use a Losmandy G-11 equatorial mount, guided with the Lacerta MGEN-2.
